ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering Program curriculum’s main purpose is to prepare cadets for merchant navy officer duties. Graduates will serve as captains of the distance on ships navigating all over the world, following the preparation period as watchkeeping officers on eligible vessels. Graduates will also be able to work in positions such as maritime, brokerage, shipbuilding, maritime insurance, human resources, port management etc.

Academic education consists of eight semesters, which are applied as the first term summer internship in the third year. Trainees specialize primarily in advanced math, physics, chemistry, basic engineering, technical drawing and computer courses, navigation and seamanship, cargo operations, ship and ship management. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Transportation Management Engineering. The curriculum is in full compliance with STCW 2010.

DEGREE

Students who have successfully completed the program are entitled to receive the "Diploma of Maritime Transportation Engineering of the PRÜ Maritime Faculty".

 

EDUCATION LEVEL

This program is a graduate-level program.

 

REGISTRATION ACCEPTANCE CONDITIONS

Students who graduate from a high school or a similar education institution are entitled to study at our university in case they choose programs that are based on the MF4 score of our university after the Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS) and if they are placed by OSYM in any of these programs. The registration requirements of the faculty faculties are published in the OSYM Manual.

 

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS AND RULES

Degree requirements and rules have been published on Piri Reis University Higher Education Regulations.

Any student who successfully completes all courses of the program that he / she is enrolled in accordance with the provisions of this Regulation; who completes cultural development seminar and fulfill their sea training obligations who are not FF, FD and whose GNO is 2.00 or above, and provides the minimum amount of credit required by the program, are eligible for a diploma.

 

COMPLETION OF PREVIOUS EDUCATION

Students who have enrolled in the first semester and who have studied at any higher education institution accepted by the Higher Education Council previously, are required to apply at least one week before the registration renewal week for exemption for the courses they have succeeded in the previous higher education institution with the relevant faculty notation and course content.

For those who are granted equivalent exemptions and those whose credits are deemed appropriate by the board of directors of the relevant units, they may be enrolled in the appropriate courses according to the rules for taking courses from the upper half of the total credit load they are exempted.

 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
