  • Introduction and safety, emergency situations, principles of survivals, use of survival equipment, methods of helicopter rescue, survival craft and rescue boats, launching arrangements, lifeboat engine and accessories, evacuation, signaling equipment and pyrotechnics, actions to take when aboard a survival craft, first aid, drills in launching and recovering boats, radio equipment, drill in launching life rafts
  • Designated security duties, security-awareness, security-related familiarization

Course Objectives

A trainee successfully completing the “Elementary First Aid” will be able to take necessary precautions to save his/her and other personnel’s life, how to perform first aid.

A trainee successfully completing the “Proficiency in Survival Craft” will be able take charge of preparation, embarkation and launching of survival craft. They will also be able to manage a boat under oars, sails or motor and take charge of an inflatable fife raft. Trainees will know the correct use of survival equipment and the actions to take preserve the lives of those in their charge.

A trainee successfully completing the “Combined Ship Security Duties” will be able to perform on board designated security duties, including anti-piracy and anti-armed-robbery-related activities.
