Course Description

This course forms part of the proposed Modular Framework for vocational and professional qualification based on a degree programme in Quality Management. The Programme gives students a general idea of security and safety issues of merchant vessels as well as port facilities. The main subjects in this course are; history of quality, Quality management and integrated management system, safety (ISM Code) – quality relations, Assessment and Certification Process, Personnel, Training, and Safety in the Scope of Technical Management.

1. To introduce students the short history of quality management.
2. To teach students how to create quality management system onboard ships.
3. To introduce students how to create safety management system onboard ships.
4. To teach students inspection techniques and applications, compansations.
