Course Description

This course covers the concept of volunteering and volunteer management, basic volunteering, participation in volunteer work in public institutions, local governments and non-governmental organizations, risk groups in society and volunteering. Beginning from the 5th week, students will practically participate in volunteering.

 

Course Aim

To strengthen the bond between universities and society by using the knowledge, skills and knowledge they have acquired throughout their education in order to increase the volunteering and social responsibility culture of students.

 

Course Objectives

 

         Students who successfully pass this course will gain the following knowledge and gains:

1.            Definition of Volunteering, Rationale and Purpose of Volunteering.

2.            Practices in Volunteer Management.

3.            Risk groups in the Society and Volunteer Risk Management

4.          Case Studies of Voluntary Work in Public Institutions, Local Governments and NGOs.

Students are asked to take pictures and videos during their volunteering activities, turn it into a movie at the end of the semester and make a presentation.
