Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the branches of engineering that plays an important role in the research, development and production of technological products in daily life. Electrical-Electronics Engineering is a profession that is needed in the first place in the world and in our country. Demand for Electrical-Electronics Engineers continues to increase in the areas of design, production, automation and management, especially in research and development.

Electrical Engineering education mainly involves, in addition to basic courses, the production, transport and distribution of electrical energy, lighting systems, electric machines, power electronics and control applications using various and sustainable energy sources. The Electronic Engineering program includes, after basic courses, courses of the systems of electronic technology, communication technologies and courses in microprocessor and microcontroller, intelligent robotics and others. Students can create their own programs with elective courses. The courses in the program have rich laboratory practices.

The aim of the department is to educate qualified engineers and researchers in the field of Electrical, Control, Electronics and Communication Engineering in the level of modern science and technology.

The department applies international standards in undergraduate education and training. Our aim is to train engineers who can design systems by following new developments in their own discipline and who can compete on a global scale, sensitive to universal values and assimilate profession ethics, use knowledge and technology for community welfare and happiness. The education in Bachelor's degree is given towards the goals of Turkey’s Higher Education Qualifications Framework of the Bologna Process and planned in a way that will allow specialization in electrical and electronic sub-areas. The department's curriculum includes necessary theoretical, practical and laboratory trainings in these areas.

As in all sectors, the prevalence of electrical and electronic engineering practices in the maritime sector has led our University to provide training in this scientific field. Electrical and electronics engineering applications in the maritime sector include integrated navigation systems such as radar, communications, GPS and computer systems, machinery and electric power systems, their control and robotic applications. With these technologies, systems in the maritime industry are expected to become more and more automatic and autonomous in the coming years.

Employment Opportunities :

The students who will graduate from this department have many options in terms of their academic and vocational career. Our graduates can continue their academically graduate programs in electrical and electronics engineering, communications, computer, control or mechatronics engineering. In addition, they can work in private sector establishments operating in the above sub-areas or in shipyards and as an electrotechnical officer in ships.
