Course Description

Principles of Warehousing / Storage and Handling Systems / Order Picking and Replenishment / Receiving and Dispatching / Types of packaging / Transport packaging / Logistical packaging

 

Course Objectives

 

The objectives of this course are to provide a fundamental understanding of the properties of packaging materials for use with different products, proper selection of packaging material for the stability and safety of goods, as well as the manufacturing of these materials and consequent packages. This course also provides the students with the basic knowledge of material handling, equipments and technology.

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

  1. Can understand the concept of packaging materials
  2. Can choose appropriate material for first, second and third packing
  3. Can understand the basic knowledge of material handling, equipments and technology
  4. Can find out material handling equipments and technology for designing the new material flows in any warehouse
