Course Description

General overview to occupational health and safety; Informing about laws and regulations; The importance and effects of occupational accidents and occupational diseases; Basic hazards in the workplace; Fire and safety precautions; Risk factors; Working with screened tools, manual lifting and transporting, PPE; Occupational safety in ship/shipyard and closed area works

Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to give information about occupational health and safety, safety culture, laws and regulations, the significance and effects of occupational accidents and occupational diseases, hazards and risks in the workplace.

 

 

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

  1. Forming occupational health and safety awareness in general.
  2. Evaluation of the importance and effects of occupational accidents and occupational diseases
  3. Identification of hazards, risks and emergencies in the workplace, taking safety precautions
  4. Determination of safety measures to be taken in work carried out in shipyard and industry sector.
