Course Description

This course provides necessary information and practice for managing individual projects and defines project management related concepts. The course also addresses the project management life cycle and its related processes.

 

Course Objectives

 

The purpose of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge on project management. Given information will be practiced through case studies selected from industry so that common understanding will be achieved on project management profession. So that each student can benefit through out their professional life.

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

  1. Acquire knowledge on project management terminology.
  2. Appreciation and deep understanding of various types of organisational structures.
  3. Improve proficiency in project planning.
  4.  Practice and experience on project planning via given case studies.
  5. Provide solid understanding of project life cycle.

Instructional Methods and Techniques

Lectures will be given through slide shows; sample problems will be solved in class and real-life applications will be discussed in class with question and answer sessions.
