Dersin İçeriği

(Course Description)

Sosyal sözleşme düşüncesi, Amerikan ve Fransız Devrimleri, sınırlı devlet fikrinin doğuşu ve gelişimi ile modern devletin dayandığı ideolojiler bu dersin içeriğini oluşturmaktadır.

The idea of social contract, the American and French Revolutions, the birth and development of the idea of the limited state and the ideologies on which the modern state is based constitute the content of this course.

Dersin Amacı

(Course Objectives)

Devlet gücünün kaynağını, meşruiyetini ve sınırlarını irdelemek bu dersin temel amacıdır. Modern hukukun oluşum sürecinin modern devletin ortaya çıkışından ayrılamaz nitelikte olduğuna dikkat çekmek de bu dersin bir diğer amacını oluşturmaktadır.

Examining the source, legitimacy and limits of the power of the state is the main aim of this course.

Another aim of this course is to draw attention to the fact that the formation process of modern law is inseparable from the emergence of the modern state.

Dersin Öğrenme Çıktıları

(Course Learning Outcomes)

Bu dersi başarı ile tamamlayan öğrenciler:

I. Modern devleti ortaya çıkaran koşullar ve modern devletin doğuşuna ilişkin teoriler hakkında bilgi sahibi olacaktır.

II. Devlet, demokrasi, egemenlik gibi kavramların anlamlarının zaman içerisindeki dönüşümlerini fark ederek bugünkü kullanımlarını irdeleyebilme yetisini kazanacaklardır.

III. Modern devletin dayandığı ve etkilendiği siyasal ideolojileri öğreneceklerdir.

I. Students who successfully complete this course will have information about the conditions that created the modern state and the theories about the emergence of the modern state.

II. They will be able to understand the transformations of the meanings of concepts such as state, democracy and sovereignty over time and to examine their current usage.

III. Students will learn the political ideologies on which the modern state is based and influenced.
