Introduction and Basic Concepts / Transportation Concepts in Supply Chain / Transportation Concepts in Economy / Motor Carriers & Its Regulations/ Airway & Railroads: Introduction and Main Terms / Vehicle Selection& Vehicle Costing / Vehicle Routing Problems: Savings Algorithm & Its Extensions & Sweep Algorithm & Fisher and Jaikumar Algorithm / Transportation Problems

 

Course Objectives

 

This course provides you with information about fundamentals of transportation, transportation’s impact on economy, different modes of transportation and the functions of transportation modes. This course also gives you opportunities to indentify transport problems and distribution problems and solve these problems by basic solution methods of transportation problems and distribution problems

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

By students who passed from EF114 Mathematics I successfully

Students will

I.Have basic knowledge about the term of transportation and different modes of transport.

II.Able to determine the types of vehicles and the numbers of vehicles

III.Able to determine transportation and vehicle costs.

IV.Able to apply basic solution methods of transportation problems.

V.Have some of basic transporation regulations.

VI.Able to develop transporation&distribution models and solve these problems by using the basic methods.
