Course Objectives

 

The objectives of transportation management course are;

  1. To put forward the loading information, workflow, costs, pricing, organizational issues and management about the road, air, sea, rail and combined transport, in order to be exercised in harmony and integrated with other logistics activities,
  2. To explain the common transport policy of European Union and transport policy of Turkey in order to clarify the interaction between transport systems and economic development,
  3. To analyze the transportation problems and determine the method of solution encountered in logistics organizations in order to achieve an efficient transportation management,
  4. With the help of linear programming to gain the ability of obtaining algorithm for transport models and to form the mathematical model of transportation problems
  5. To analyze and interpret the outputs of transportation model.

 

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

By students who passed from LTY506 Planning and Modeling successfully

Students will

  1. Expressing the consept and structure of the logistics
  2. To know the goal of logistics and basic activities
  3. To know demand forecasting methods and to use basic statistical techniques
  4. To know transportation modes and making decision based on transportation modes
