Course Description

This course discusses nonlinear mechanics of solids. Plasticty and elasticity concepts will be analyzed.

 

Course Objectives

 

Students learn basic principles of nonlinear solid mechanics They gain the understanding of the breadth and depth of the field of plasticity theory. The students recognize relationship between the linear and nonlinear behaviors of solids.

  3. Learn and apply the concepts isotropy and anisotropy
  4. Understand the concepts fracture mechanics, creep and fatigue
