Course Description

The course will examine the evolution of HR as one of the primarily administrative functions. Additionally, the course will look at the effective management of human capital, the importance of attracting and retaining employees, managing a diverse workforce, recognizing employee rights, and legislative requirements.

 

 

Course Objectives

 

  1. 1. To introduce students to the basic functions of human resource management to include the processes, concepts and issues involved in recruiting, selecting, training, appraising performance, compensating and retaining people for an organization.
  2. 2. To promote an appreciation for the role of human resource management in establishing the competitive advantage of an organization and executing its strategy.

3. To promote the use of evidence-based decisions and practices in human resource management

At the end of this course the student will be able to

I- define human resources management and its strategic position in organization.

II- explain job design and job analysis.

III- explain recruitment and selection processes.

IV- evaluate training, performance appraisal and career management processes.

V- explain wage and employee benefits strategies.
