Course Description

This course will encompass a wide range of activities to develop basic language skills like reading, speaking, listening, and writing, combined with exercises to enrich students’ business vocabulary — from general terms to words specific to fields of economics and administrative sciences.

 

Course Objectives

 

To provide students with knowledge and skills required for applying fundamentals of Russian grammar, writing and conversational practice.

 

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

By students who passed from Basic Russian For Business I successfully

  1. Foundations of Russian pronunciation can be defined.
  2. Models of Russian pronunciation and speech conventions can be used correctly.
  3. Stressed and unstressed sounds; correction of vowel pronunciation can be scoped out.
  4. Identification and correction of deviations in consonant pronunciation can be learned.
  5. Variability of sounds in connected speech can be identified.
  6. The rhythmic structure of speech; work on speech tempo can be used correctly.
  7. The intonational structure of speech can be integrated for communicative situations.
  8. Basic foundational grammar for conversation can be applied.
  9. Basic cultural and communicative adaptation can be derived from each other.
  10. Basic topics that reflect the spheres of everyday and business communication can be used.
