Course Description

The difference between Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Individual Differences and Assessment, Job Analysis and Performance, Performance Measurement, Staffing Decisions, Training and Development, The Motivation to Work, Attitudes, Emotions, and Work, Stress and Worker Well-Being, Fairness and Diversity in the Workplace, Leadership, Teams in Organizations, The Organization of Work Behavior.

 

Course Objectives

 

  1. To lay the foundation of the future lectures such as management-organization, organizational behaviour, organizational design, HRM, and strategic management.
  2. To help the students grasp the basics of psychology science, theories, scientific approach and research methods as well as encourage them to focus on human, groups, work and organizational interactions through organization-employees and employee-employees relations.
  3. To assist them to find solutions to motivational, performance, and other organizational problems.

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

At the end of this course the student will be able to

 

  1. Understand the difference between industrial and organizational psychology

 

  1. To understand and apply the contribution of organizational psychology to organizations with regards to individuals, groups, and institutional level.

 

  1. To see and grasp how the principles, theories, and research models of psychology could be applicable to the business contexts

 

  1. To understand and digest the methods and tools required for measuring the humane side of work

 

  1. To grasp what type of humane reactions emerge in business contexts

 

  1. To know how to anticipate, enhance, and sustain work performance and satisfaction
