Course Description

Use of machine tools in the machine workshop, Files, Bevels, Marking, Drills, Adhesives and joints, Maintenance,  Projects works and safety rules, Pipe works, Wrenches, Cutting tools, Clamps,  Percussion drill, Lubricating and it’s parts (grease pumps, Hydraulic pumps), Sealing parts, Hand tools, Measuring parts, V belts, Rivet guns, Crane, Ring, Bearings, Fittings (Nipple, Sleeve e.t.c.), Valves  (Gate, Globe-Check e.t.c.), Pumps, Adjusting the axis of pump-engine

Course Objectives

To teach the use of hand and power tools and workshop machines.

Course Learning Outcomes

 

 

Students who successfully pass the course will acquire knowledge and skills as listed below.

 

  1. Knows safety rules in the machine workshop.
  2. Knows use of hand tools in the machine workshop.
  3. Ability to mark correctly.
  4. Ability to work safely with hydraulic saw.
  5. Ability to use electric arc welding safely.
  6. Ability to use gas arc welding safely.
  7. Ability to use oxy-acetylene welding safely.
  8. Ability to rivet safely.
  9. Ability to use measurement instruments correctly.
  10. Ability to pull out and mount bearings correctly.
  11. Knows lubricating elements.
  12. Ability to make pipe joints correctly.
  13. Ability to pull out and mount sealing parts correctly.
  14. Ability to use rivet gun safely.
  15. Ability to pull out and mount rings correctly.
  16. Ability to adjust the axis of a pump-engine correctly.
