Course Description

Technical drawing in engineering, technical writing, geometrical drawings. Pictorial projection methods and drawing main views of 3D objects. Drawing symbols of different manufacturing methods and standard properties. Drawing missing view from 2 main views. Dimensioning and tolerances. 3D drawing techniques: simple objects and inclined surfaces. Sectioning methods. Introduction to computer aided technical drawing.

 

Course Objectives

 

1.  To provide students with knowledge and skills required for drawing and  reading technical drawings.

2.  To provide the applications of dimensioning, surface finishing symbols, fits and geometrical tolerances on the technical drawings.

3.  To give the ability to draw technical drawings by computer aid.
