Course Description

Basic Concepts Regarding Science and Research, Research Problem, Causality, Conceptualization, Measuring, Descriptive methods-Questionnaire Development, Content Analysis, Field Study, Logic of Sampling, Research Design and Choice of Statistical Test, Preparing Bibliography, Violation of Ethics and Plagiarism, Inferential Statistics I, Inferential Statistics II, Non-parametric Tests.

 

Course Objectives

 

The overall objective of this course is to provide students the means to prepare their own projects/dissertations and help them to tackle more with issues and decisions at work.

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

At the end of this course the student will be able to

 

  1. Understand the scientific methods, theories and paradigms
  2. Learn research types and processes
  3. Understand research problem and its relation to hypotheses
  4. Make literature review
  5. Learn to report a study directly and indirectly
  6. Choose the right statistical test that suits the research pattern
  7. Compare questionnaire development and interpretation techniques
  8. Grasp plagiarism and the other ethical violations
