Course Description
|
Introduction: experimental processes, physical dimensions and units. Basic measurements, error ratio and standard deviation. Test of theories by experiments in the fundamental fields of kinematics, dynamics, energy, momentum and moment of inertia of classical mechanics.
|
Course Objectives
|
- To provide students with experimental skills required for applying fundamentals of classical mechanics and related physical quantities.
- To prepare students towards engineering problems in their programme.
|
Course Learning Outcomes
|
Upon the successful completion of the PHYS 111 L “Physics I Laboratory” course, students will be able to
- Defıne the basic terms and applications of Physics in Engineering
- Study physical quantities in different unit systems
- Defıne physical quantities of a system qualitatively and quantitatively
- Derive different physical quantities from each other
- Learn the explication of effective factors of physical quantities
- Integrate physical quantities for the necessities of marine technology
- Scope out the solutions for these necessities
- Develop the administrative skill of basic project management
- Correctly and safely use equipment for basic measurements in laboratory
