Course Description

This course forms part of the proposed Modular Framework for vocational and professional qualification based on a degree programme in Quality Management. The Programme gives students a general idea of security and safety issues of naval vessels as well as port facilities. The main subjects in this course are; history of quality, Quality management and integrated management system, safety (ISM Code) – quality relations, Assessment and Certification Process, Personnel, Training, and Safety in the Scope of Technical Management.

 

Course Objectives

 

1. To introduce students the short history of quality.

2. To teach students safety and environment protection and quality management system.

3. To introduce students training, assessment and certification process.

4. To teach students sanctions, responsibilities and indemnities issues.

  1. Having general information about the history of quality and Total Quality Management
  2. Understanding of safety, protection of the environment and quality relations
  3. Realising legal and commercial necessities for the safety and quality management.
  4. General overview of preparation and application of safety and quality management systems, responsibilities, sanctions and indemnities
