Course Description

The course will cover topics such as the importance of maritime transport, cargo types and characteristics carried by maritime transport, ship types and characteristics used in maritime transport, facilities and services of ports and terminals, types of maritime business, liner and tramp shipping.

Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide students with knowledge and skills about the basic elements of maritime transportation such as shipping, shipping, ports, maritime businesses.

Course Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:

I. Explain the characteristics of ships and ship types in maritime transportation.

II. Describe the properties of cargo and cargo types.

III. Explain ship operation and ship management, ports, port types, port facilities, port operations and services.

IV. Analyze the relationship between cargo, ship, port and maritime transport types
