Course Description

Introduction to computer technologies and internet Technologies, Information and communication ethics, computer networks in ships, systems and their usage, computer units, data processing, input/output and memory, operating systems, software programs, introduction to programming, programming langiages and coding, number systems, flow diagrams, introduction to C programming, I/O operations, operators, if and if-else structures, for, whi,le and do-while loops, functions arrays, pointers

 

Course Objectives

 

To attain knowledge about computers, internet technologies, computer networks (including the ones in ships), data processing, programming and basic knowledge about C programming language

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

Upon succesful completion of this course, the student will attain knowledge about the following subjects:

  1. Computer system units, their functions (CPU, memory, bus, etc.) and data processing
  2. Internet, World wide web, Information ethics
  3. Computer networks and user programs
  4. Number systems in computer arithmetics
  5. Flow diagrams, programming languages and basic knowledge about programming
  6. Basics of C programming language
