Course Description

This course continues to develop material covered in Russian 101 and it will teach students how to describe various professions, speaking on the phone and making arrangements and describing their life. Grammatical themes teach the use of adverbs, adjectives, various tenses and locative cases. All this material will be presented with an emphasis on developing Cyrillic alphabet understanding as well as other reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

 

Course Objectives

 

To provide cadets with knowledge and skills required for applying fundamentals of Russian grammar, writing and conversational practice.

 

 

Course Learning Outcomes

 

By students who passed from Russian II successfully

  1. Models of Russian pronunciation and speech conventions can be used correctly.
  2. Locative case: where – Prepositions: in, on, at can be used correctly.
  3. Masculine Animate Nouns in Accusative case can be integrated for telephone etiquette.
  4. Present tense of verbs – conjugation 1: to work, to live can be learned.
  5. Present tense of verbs – conjugation 2: to speak, to love – (I speak Russian very well) can be learned.
  6. Adverbs: well, slowly, fast, freely can be scoped out.
  7. What is allowed / not allowed; Cardinal numbers 1-100 can be applied.
  8. Adjectives and gender agreement can be defined and used correctly.
  9. Locative case: where – Accusative case where to? can be applied.
  10. Past and future tense of verbs can be learned.
